SQL Azure DATA Sync - מה זה ואיך מפעילים את זה

שוחררה גרסה חדשה של הפורטל ובה 2 תוספות מרכזיות במיוחד עבור  SQL Azure


1.       - DATA Sync כעת זמין ואפשר לסנכרן בין בסיסי נתונים בענן או בין בסיסי נתונים בענן לבין שרתים בארגון

2.       Reporting כעת זמין כלומר האפשרות שגם הפורטל של SSRS יהיה זמין בענן עצמו.


בכנס שהסתיים זה עתה  SQL Pass -  הכריזו על מספר תוספות שחלקן כבר זמינות וחלקן יהיו זמינות בקרוב, במהלך היום אעלה פוסט שיכיל את הרשימה של הדברים החדשים ופה אתאר בקצרה את הסרביס הקרוי DATA Sync:

אחד הצרכים המרכזיים בבסיסי נתונים בענן הוא גיבויי, וכן העברת טבלאות לבסיסי נתונים אחרים לצורך ייצור דוחות או כל צורך אפליקטיבי אחר.
DATA sync בעיקרון הוא דו כיווני – כלומר יכול לבצע סינכרון הלוך ושוב – צורך זה לטעמי פחות חשוב ויש לדעת איך לקנפג נכון כדי שהעידכון יהי חד כיווני.

לכן יצרו את הסרביס הקרוי DATA Sync – שבא מקיצורה של המילה סנכרון מידע....
כרגע סרביס זה נגיש לכולם דרך הפורטל.
אפשר לסנכרן טבלה עמודה או רשומה בין בסיס נתונים בענן ב data center אחד לבסיס נתונים ב data center אחר, או באותו אחד.
וכן לבסיס נתונים בשרת היושב בארגון.

להלן תיאור הפעלת הסינכרון:
יש בסיס נתונים בשם HUB DB – שהוא בסיס הנתונים – יעד אליו מכוונים השינויים שנרשמים בבסיס המקור.
יש בסיס נתונים בשם Member DB – שהוא בסיס נתונים שממנו נלקחים שינויים ואליו מתעדכן מידע בחזרה (שימו לב שאם אין בו נגיעות והכנסות לא יחזור מידע בחזרה ולכן זהו גיבוי...) – אולם הוא ניתן לשינוי


לאחר מכן נפתח חלון הרשאה ובו בוחרים בסיס נתונים מרכזי להפעלה


פה נפתח צעד ראשון בניהול הסינכרון - כאשר בוחרים לו שם


אחרי כן נפתח חלון עם GUI יפה המאפשר בחירה של בסיס נתונים יעד - HUB  בחץ האדום ובסיס נתונים מקור Member בחץ הירוק  - 


  
כיווני עידכון 


טיימר של כל כמה זמן יתבצע סינכרון


וחלון עם רשימת טבלאות ועמודות לביצעו סינכרון או כאלו עם בעיות


אחרי כל הקינפוג ים יש לבצע deploy בכפתור זה:


ואז מתחילה להתבצע פעולת הסינכרון:



וכשהכל מסתיים זה מסומן ככה

אפשר אם רוצים לא לחכות לטיימר אלא להריץ יזום - פה:


ומה שקורה  - וזה כמובן נבדק מועבר המידע מבסיס הנתונים אחד לחברו – ניתן לבדוק בפשטות על ידי ביצוע select לפי מספר רשומות לפני ואחרי.

Back to Basic - create new Azure SQL DB

Configuring secondary database in Azure SQL DB - Bug found

Hi All Last week we had an issue with a secondary DB in geo replication and fail over group. To make the long story short we had to delete the secondary and recreate a secondary from scratch . And now let me tell you the story, we build a DB in P6 tier - very high, expensive and highly available. Then we add a geo replication copy via the platform, like it shows here.
