What's new in SQL Azure new version

שלום לכולם
ובכן גירסה חדשה של SQL Azure שוחררה כמו שכתבתי בפוסט הקודם.
ובכן מה יש לנו בה?
כרגע אין הודעה רישמית מה יש ומה אין - אני אספר רק מה שראיתי ובדקתי.:
1. ניתן ליצור בסיס נתונים חדש עד גודל של 150 GB






2.  פורטל הניהול של ה SQL Azure השתנה לחלוטין - נו טוב בטח שהם שינו מיד אחרי שנתתי הרצאה שלמה איך זה ניראה , כנראה לא נהנו מההרצאה שלי.
אצרף כמה תמונות כדי לטעום אולם אני אשתדל בימים הקרובים לתת פוסט מסודר על זה


הפורטל בסגנון מטרו - שזו תוכנית פנימית של מיקרוסופט
כשנכנסים יש מצד שמאל למטה 3 אפשרויות כשכל אחת אחראית לתחום שונה:
כללי
ניהול
כתיבה ועיצוב





כאן זהו החלק של הניהול
שמחולק גם הוא ל 3 חלקים
חלק עליון של פעולות
חלק אמצעי שמביא סטטיסטיקות
וחלק תחתון שמביא סיכום







בחלק זה יש כפתור שנקרא new 
שפותח
new Federation - שזה החידוש הגדול של גירסה זו של ה SQL Azure ועל כך גם בפוסט בפני עצמו בעתיד




בחלק האחרון של ה desgin
גם יש 3 חלקים
חלק עליון של פעולות
חלק אמצעי של הרצות או שאילתות וכדומה
וחלק תחתון של תוצאות שחוזרות מהשאילתא                                





וגם תרשים של Query plan.עם כל מיני קומבינציות....


נסו ותהנו
וכל זה בלי SSMS...






בצורה זו גם ניתן לראות את הפירוט של כל תא ותא ב PLAN כמו בצד ימין
וכן ברמה סיכומית על כל ההרצה

Configuring secondary database in Azure SQL DB - Bug found

Hi All Last week we had an issue with a secondary DB in geo replication and fail over group. To make the long story short we had to delete the secondary and recreate a secondary from scratch . And now let me tell you the story, we build a DB in P6 tier - very high, expensive and highly available. Then we add a geo replication copy via the platform, like it shows here. This is take from MSFT documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-sql/database/active-geo-replication-overview It is written:  " Both primary and secondary databases are required to have the same service tier. It is also strongly recommended that the secondary database is created with the same backup storage redundancy and compute size (DTUs or vCores) as the primary. If the primary database is experiencing a heavy write workload, a secondary with lower compute size may not be able to keep up with it. How to restore deleted Azure Synapse dedicated SQL pool

  Existing dedicated pool can be easily restored from Azure portal or PowerShell command, but for now deleted pool could be restored from PowerShell only!
